MOTOKO KURAMOCHI, Managing Director

Konnichiwa, my name is Motoko Kuramochi and I am the Managing Director of AZ Japanese Service Co., Ltd. Since founding AZ Japanese Service in 1996 we have worked with over 500 English speakers who have wanted to learn Japanese. During this time, the most common requests that we have had have been "I'd really like to understand the basic differences between Japanese and English" and "I'd like an explanation of Japanese grammar from an English speaker’s perspective”. With these comments in mind we have strived to develop teaching methods and materials directed at the needs of English speakers.

Our experience working with these 500 students has shown that, on average, a student undertakes 80 hours of Japanese lessons during a year. Most of these students have been time pressed business people unable to commit to study outside of formal lessons. For many of them, the 80 hours of lesson time represented their only study of the Japanese language.
Given the premise of 80 precious hours of Japanese lessons in a year, how best should you spend this time? At AZ Japanese Service, we help you to get the most from your investment in time and money by using carefully developed teaching methods and excellent materials. Please take a trial lesson to experience our approach first hand.
